RCMP reminding hunters to charge phones before hitting woods

Nova Scotia RCMP are reminding people to be prepared before heading out into the woods following an incident in Middle Musquodobit on Monday.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m., police received a call from a lost hunter. Withing 15 minutes of receiving the call, officers were able to locate the 24-year-old Lake Echo man in the woods near Sibley Road and Highway 224.

“Because this man had a cellphone, he was able to call for help immediately allowing us to locate him very quickly,” says Cpl. Dal Hutchinson, RCMP, in a news release.

“I want to take this opportunity to remind hunters to charge up their phone before heading out to hunt this season.  Should you get lost, it could make all the difference when we are trying to locate you.”
