Efforts to raise $7.86 million to build the rail trail between Kelowna and Coldstream are getting a boost from Kalamalka Rotary’s Dream Auction.
The annual event raises around $200,000 each year and this year a portion of those funds are being pledged to the rail trail.

The Rotary Club will be using money raised at the auction to match trail donations received on the Dream Auction evening up to $25,000.
Those funds will then be matched again by a group of anonymous donors who have been matching donations during the month of October.
Over all the event could add as much as $100,000 to the rail trail fundraising total.
The Dream Auction takes place November 19 at the Vernon Lodge.
At last word, approximately 11 per cent of the money needed to construct the trail had been raised.
