Though no one was seriously injured in the collisions, police are asking the public to “plan ahead if alcohol will be part of your Halloween activities.”

“Four of the five drivers were involved in either single vehicle collisions and or multiple hit-and-run incidents,” police said in a statement.

The incidents happened between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. Saturday, including a rollover in the 2000 block of 12 Avenue South.

The fifth driver didn’t cause a crash. Police said the remaining two drivers were dealt with “by immediate roadside sanctions.”

Police emphasized the importance of designating a sober driver, calling a cab, or finding another way home if you’ve been drinking, noting the impact on police resources when they need to attend to impaired driving incidents.

“Names of the drives are not being released at this time,” police said in a statement. “This message is intended to ask the public’s assistance in helping us keep our streets safe this Halloween and upcoming holiday season.”

Lethbridge police were unable to provide further details as to any charges, damages or roadside sanctions after a Global News request Saturday.
