Confederation Bridge reopens after temporary closure due to high winds

BORDEN-CARLETON, P.E.I. – Travel is back to normal on the Confederation Bridge after high winds closed it briefly today.

Officials say they had to restrict crossings due to stiff winds.

The temporary closure affected automobiles towing trailers, motorcycles and high-sided vehicles, including trucks, tractor trailers, recreational vehicles and buses.

The restrictions were put in place at about 5:30 a.m. and lifted about an hour later.
