Kamloops to host 2014 Tim Hortons Brier

VANCOUVER – The Tim Hortons Brier is returning to B.C. in 2014 for the first time in 18 years.

The battle for the national men’s curling title will be held in Kamloops, which was the last B.C. city to host the Brier in 1996.

The announcement was made today in Kamloops by the Canadian Curling Association

And in another announcement today, Curling BC announced it has signed a 10-year agreement with Sportsnet that will see the sports cable company televising the provincial men’s and women’s championships, plus the provincial juniors beginning in 2014.

Sportsnet has also signed similar deals with the Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario curling associations.

As part of an existing agreement, Shaw TV will broadcast the 2013 B.C. men’s, women’s and junior championships.
