Pokemon characters, Chewbacca and zombies may take over this year’s Halloween season, according to Google Trends in Canada.
According to the website, the most popular 2016 Halloween costumes seem to focus on anti-heroes from popular movies such as Deadpool and Suicide Squad. Harley Quinn costumes will be among the most popular this year. Also in the midst of the Pokemon Go craze, a bright yellow Pikachu costume could be flooding the streets come Halloween night.
Google Trends also shows classic costumes such as The Joker, werewolves and zombies will be top of the list for kids and adults.

- It appears Canadians love dressing up in pairs: searches for “couples Halloween costumes” have been growing at 10 per cent nearly every year.
- DIY costumes, such as Snapchat filters are on the rise.
