Halloween 2016: top searched costumes, movies

WATCH: Still looking for a Halloween costume? There are lots of last-minute and DIY costumes to choose choose from.

Pokemon characters, Chewbacca and zombies may take over this year’s Halloween season, according to Google Trends in Canada.

According to the website, the most popular 2016 Halloween costumes seem to focus on anti-heroes from popular movies such as Deadpool and Suicide Squad. Harley Quinn costumes will be among the most popular this year.  Also in the midst of the Pokemon Go craze, a bright yellow Pikachu costume could be flooding the streets come Halloween night.

Google Trends also shows classic costumes such as The Joker, werewolves and zombies will be top of the list for kids and adults.
