Laval police are investigating after two people suffered serious injuries in an incident in the Vimont district Sunday afternoon.

The call came in at around 5 p.m. Sunday for a person in distress. When police arrived they found a man on the driveway of the home with cuts to his neck and throat area.

A woman was later found unconscious in one of the rooms of the house.

The two people, a 43-year-old man and 27-year-old woman, were found at 185 Dagenais East Blvd., in the Vimont district and were taken to hospital.

“We’re still trying to figure out their relationship,” Franco Di Genova, Laval police constable, said. “There are no direct witnesses.”

Early Monday morning, Di Genova confirmed that they no longer fear for the man’s life. The woman is still in critical condition.

The police have not been able to speak to either of the people and crime scene investigators have not found a weapon of any kind, according to Di Genova.
