‘Secure-the-building’ mode lifted at north end Regina school

A “secure-the-building” mode that was put in place at a Regina elementary school Monday afternoon has been lifted.

At around 12:45 p.m., police were called to a house in the 1000 block of McTavish Street. Police said a witness reported a gun at the residence.

As a result, Seven Stones Community School was placed in “secure-the-building” mode. The lockdown was lifted at around 3:30 p.m.

The exterior doors of the school were locked and monitored. All of the students stayed inside the building.

Police are still investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Regina police at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
