The Turcot Interchange will be closing down one of its lanes until 2018.
Closure begins from Highway 20 East to the two-lane road that replaces the Ville-Marie.
Transports Quebec said the closure is necessary to calm traffic before being redirected to Route 136.
This is only the beginning of closures on the Turcot.

Expect the next months to be a traffic headache as closures follow:
November 2016 until 2018
- Closure of Highway 720 in the eastern direction between the Turcot Interchange and Exit 3 (Guy Street).
Traffic on the four lanes will be redirected to two of the lanes on Route 136 and temporary roads between the Turcot Interchange and Exit 3 (Guy Street).
Mid-November 2016 – for 12 to 15 weekends
- Complete closure of the new Route 136 in the eastern direction between the Turcot Interchange and the highway entrance at De la Cathédrale and Notre-Dame west.
This closure is necessary to safely dismantle the Ville-Marie Expressway in the eastern direction. Transports Quebec warns that other closures are possible on municipal streets during the dismantling process to ensure public safety.
