One dead after two crashes on Highway 7 during snow storm

RCMP attended a fatal two vehicle crash around 2:30 p.m. this afternoon.

Mounties say a mini-van and a semi collided 13 km west of Kindersley on Highway 7.

The male driver of the van was declared dead at the scene.

His male passenger was taken to hospital in Kindersley with unknown injuries.

Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning in the Kindersley, Rosetown, Biggar, Wilkie and Macklin areas.

Earlier today, a pickup truck was in a head-on collision with a semi on Highway 7. The semi driver was not injured, while the male truck driver was taken to hospital in Saskatoon.

RCMP reconstructionists are currently investigating both scenes.

Highway 7 is currently closed from Kindersley to the Alberta border and is expected remain closed for several hours.

Mounties are advising motorists to avoid the area if at all possible as road conditions are poor due to weather and to allow emergency personnel to conduct their duties.
