Man charged in stolen bicycle investigation

 TORONTO – Police have charged a man in connection with a bicycle theft investigation.

A woman contacted police after she spotted her stolen bike for sale on the Internet.

On Saturday, an undercover officer made arrangements to purchase the bike from the accused.

As a result of the transaction, a man was arrested at his home in the Gerrard Street and Main Street area.

A total of 12 bicycles were seized from the home, five of which have been identified as stolen.

Christopher Mowers, 40, of Toronto has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime.

He is scheduled to appear in court December 11th.

Police believe seven of the recovered bikes may also be stolen and are requesting the public’s assistance identifying the owners.
