The man is described as indigenous in appearance, approximately 5’8″, 270 pounds, with a bowl style haircut.
In July 2016, Winnipeg police sent out a release saying it was a possibility Krull had been abducted. They believe this information sparked the news tip.

“We have new information that was triggered as a result of a news release on July 2016,” said Winnipeg Police Service Const. Jason Michalyshen.
Investigators have not dismissed the fact that Krull could still be abducted, he added.

“Shortly after arriving, Thelma experienced some kind of distress,” Sgt. Wes Rommel said in July at a media conference. “It is our belief that this distress was the result of either a medical situation she experienced or an encounter or ultimate abduction by an unknown individual.”
“The fact that her glasses remain as well as her cell phone is one of the pieces we have to indicate distress,” Rommel said.
