WINNIPEG — With Tuesday’s NHL roster deadline looming the Winnipeg Jets made their final move to get down to the 23-man limit.

The Jets re-assigned forward Brendan Lemieux to the Manitoba Moose. Lemieux missed all of training camp with a lower body injury after getting hurt at the annual rookie tournament, the Young Stars Classic.

Lemieux, 20, is entering his first full season as a pro. He joined the Moose late last season after the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires were eliminated. He appeared in five games with the Moose where he scored two goals and added one assist. Lemieux was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the second round of the 2014 NHL Draft, but was dealt to the Jets as part of the Evander Kane trade.

The Jets will enter the season with 14 forwards, seven defencemen and two goaltenders on their roster.

All teams must submit their final 23-man roster by 4 p.m. central time on Tuesday.

The Jets didn’t skate on Tuesday and instead took part in some team building exercises. They play their home opener on Thursday against the Carolina Hurricanes.
