Saskatoon civic election: Deadline looms to register for homebound voting

The City of Saskatoon is offering another option for people who want to vote in the upcoming civic election but are unable to make it to the polls.

Homebound voting gives those with limited mobility or who are disabled the chance to cast their ballot at home.

However, the deadline for those who want to use this option is approaching. The deadline to fill out an application form is at 5 p.m. CT on Friday, Oct. 14.

Applications can be made online or at the city clerk’s office at city hall.

Once a voter has registered, they will be given a date and time when an election official will come to their home to take their vote.

Homebound voting will take place on Oct. 21, 24 and 26.

Resident caregivers are also able to use this option to vote.

Identification is required to vote. Officials said government-issued photo ID is the best option.

Election day is Oct. 26.
