Tagg Romney talks about wanting to ‘take a swing’ at Obama

TORONTO – Tagg Romney, Mitt Romney’s eldest son, said he felt like he wanted to “take a swing” at President Barack Obama during Tuesday’s debate.

The 42-year-old son of Romney followed his father into business, graduating with an MBA from Harvard and now a partner at private equity firm Solamere Capital.

Tagg, short for Taggart, told a local North Carolina radio station on Wednesday that he couldn’t help but feel enraged when Obama suggested Mitt Romney was not telling the whole truth.

“You want to rush down to the stage and take a swing at him,” Tagg said, “But you know you can’t do that because, well, first because there’s a lot of Secret Service between you and him, but also because that’s the nature of the process.”

Tagg suggested the Obama campaign was trying to create a negative image of the Republican presidential candidate.

“We’ve got to try to kind of sit there and take our punches, and then send them right back the other way.”

Despite the current campaign being Mitt’s second presidential campaign, Tagg claimed the debates still make him nervous.

“Are you kidding? He’s terrified before he gets out there!” Tagg said, though quickly corrected himself, saying Mitt “gets butterflies a little bit” before the debate.
