WINNIPEG — Winnipeg police are issuing a warning to Kilcona Dog Park users after a man reported he and his two dogs were encircled and followed by what appeared to be a group of coyotes.

The man was walking his large dogs on Friday night at around 9:30 p.m. when he came across the three animals.

They circled the man and his dogs before following them back to his vehicle.

The man reported the three animals continued to follow the vehicle until it left the park.

There have been a number of coyote sightings recently in Kilcona Park, especially around sunrise and sunset, according to police.

In a news release issued Saturday morning, police advised dog owners at the park, “to keep dogs on a leash and pick up and carry small dogs if confronted.”
