WINNIPEG — Three people were able to get out safely after a fire tore through a house in Elmwood Tuesday afternoon.
Just after 12 p.m., emergency crews were called to a house fire in the area of McPhail Street and Henderson Highway.
When crews arrived the fire was too intense and they weren’t able go into the home. The fire also spread to a detached garage next to it. After it cooled down, crews were eventually able to put out the blaze.
Three people were home at the time but safely escaped. There were no injuries.
Fire officials told Global News the blaze started in the basement and there is water, fire and smoke damage. No word on what caused it.
