A jury of six men and six women has been selected in Saskatoon for the second-degree murder trial of Stacey L’Herault.
L’Herault has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
He was first arrested after MD Ambulance responded to a call about an injured person in the 1200-block of Avenue F North on Feb. 13, 2015. Christopher Schaan, 51, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police were notified and determined that an assault had occurred. Through their investigation, a Saskatoon man was identified as a suspect and arrested.
L’Herault was initially charged with aggravated assault but that charge was upgraded days later to murder after Schaan died in hospital on Feb. 21, 2015.
It was the first homicide investigation of 2015 in Saskatoon.
L’Herault’s trial is slated to run until Oct. 7. Around 20 Crown witnesses are expected to testify in court.
