WATCH: They are officers who've made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. And at this year's BC Law Enforcement memorial, the latest fallen officer, Constable Sarah Beckett was added to the honour roll. Tanya Beja Reports – Sep 25, 2016

Police from around the province gathered in Stanley Park on Sunday to honour colleagues killed in the line of duty.

This year is a particularly difficult one as BC RCMP mourn the loss of a beloved member earlier this year.

Const. Sarah Beckett was killed while on duty in Langford in April.

The 32-year-old was driving a marked police car when she was struck by a pick-up truck in an intersection.

His will be making a court experience on Oct. 27.

Beckett joined the RCMP in 2005 and spent 11 years in British Columbia, posted to the Port McNeill, Langford Municipal, Colwood and West Shore Detachments.

“Const. Beckett represented everything that’s good about policing,” said Dep. Commissioner Craig Callens with the RCMP. “She was a community volunteer. She was a vibrant woman. She was a mother. She did exceptional work over the course of her career with the RCMP. We are weaker as the result of her loss.”

Beckett left behind a husband and two young sons.
