One woman was rushed to hospital on Friday following a collision between a SUV and a logging truck northwest of Calgary.
It happened on Highway 22 just before the Riversong subdivision turnoff south of Cochrane, Alta. at around 7:20 a.m.
STARS Air Ambulance was dispatched to the scene but then later called off.
RCMP have identified the driver of the white SUV, but did not release the 34-year-old’s name. She was trapped inside her vehicle and rescued by the fire department.
RCMP said she was taken to the Foothills Medical Centre, where she remained Friday afternoon in serious, life-threatening condition.
The driver of the logging truck was not injured, police said.
The collision caused a portion of Highway 22 to be temporarily closed. It was reopened as of 3 p.m. Friday afternoon.
