Alberta RCMP investigate after bottles thrown at students in school bus

Mounties are investigating a complaint that bottles were thrown at a school bus with students inside in the Wetaskiwin High School parking lot.

The RCMP were called on Sept. 16 at 10:19 p.m.

Officers said one of the bus windows was broken and two students suffered minor injuries.

Students on the school bus were from a visiting football team from Rocky Mountain House.

“It’s disappointing for members of our community to act in this manner against visiting students,” Staff Sgt. Guy Perreault said.

“We are hoping for the suspects to step forward and take steps towards remedying this situation.”

Wetaskiwin RCMP are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspects involving in throwing the bottles. Anyone with information is asked to call 780-312-7200 or their local police department. Anonymous information can be given through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
