KELOWNA – The alluring smell of sweet smoke has taken over City Park as the first annual Ribfest Kelowna got underway Friday.
The free admission event runs through the weekend and includes a kid’s fun zone, live music, a beer garden and of course meat meals.
“Come down and enjoy the music,” says event spokesperson Brian Wrightson. “Of course we’ve got the meat, but if you’re not into ribs, we’ve got seven food trucks.”
Four competing vendors from across the country will serve up ribs from 11am-9pm with people voting for the best ribs and best sauce.
“The first thing you’re going to notice is the beautiful smells. If you’re not hungry, you’re going to get hungry,” Says ribber Tom Diavolitsis. “We’re here to entertain and to cook up the best BBQ in the world.”
Ribfest Kelowna sponsors Interior Savings and Sunrise Rotary Club are donating proceeds to Shoe bank Canada.
