A group called ‘Cop Watch’ is demanding justice for a disabled woman who was pushed to the ground by a Vancouver Police officer in June 2010. They held a rally outside the Vancouver Police Department on Friday.

The whole incident was caught on tape. Sandy Davidsen has cerebal palsy and has trouble walking. She was seen brushing against Const. Taylor Robinson who then pushed her to the ground.

He was investigated for the incident; New Westminster Police and Vancouver Police both looked into what happened, Robinson was disciplined, he was given a day’s suspension, but that was not enough for the Office of the Police Complaint’s Commission.

They have called for a public hearing to be held.

‘Cop Watch’ want VPD Chief Jim Chu to fire Robinson. A spokesperson said a hearing into the matter is a ‘waste of time’.

It will be up to the Office of the Police Complaints Commission to set a date for the public hearing.
