Friends of a Surrey teen killed in a violent attack nearly two years ago is being remembered at Dario Jam.

Friends of a Surrey teen killed in a violent attack nearly two years ago are gathering to honour his memory.

The second annual Dario Jam, which takes place at the South Surrey Recreation & Arts Centre Saturday afternoon, aims to celebrate the life of 15-year-old Dario Bartoli, who died from injuries suffered during what police called a group attack.

Bartoli and a friend had been walking near Bakerview Park in the early morning hours of Dec. 13, 2014 when it’s believed they were attacked by up to five young people with weapons. Bartoli died a few hours later in hospital. No one has been charged in his murder.

“The focus is on celebrating Dario and giving his friends the chance to really remember Dario in a positive way,” Anna O’Brien with the City of Surrey told CKNW. “When thinking about the fact that his killer or killers are still out there, that is very, very hard to think about.”
