A body found in the Cottonwood neighbourhood of Maple Ridge on Thursday has been confirmed to be missing 56-year-old Darlene Stott.
Her body was found in the bushes near the intersection of 239A Street and 116 Avenue just after 5 p.m., just blocks away from where Stott was last seen.
Ridge Meadows RCMP notified the public of Stott’s disappearance Thursday afternoon. She was last seen in the area of 238 Street and 114a Avenue.

Foul play is not suspected.
“There is no sign of foul play being involved,” said Cpl. Brenda Winpenny. “An autopsy has been ordered and is expected to take place today which will give police and the coroner a probable cause of death. I can confirm that the body has been identified as the missing 56-year-old woman Ridge Meadows RCMP were looking for yesterday.”

The investigation is continuing in conjunction with the BC Coroner.
