“The (mother) pig died but had already given birth so I collected the piglets. Here at home, a dog had already given birth and I came up with the idea of putting them together to see if the dog would accept them. On the first day she was a little hesitant, but ended up giving them (milk) and then a week on, she would arrive on her own volition to feed the piglets,” said owner of the animals, Ignacio Estevez.

The dog and her piglet babies have become the sight to be seen in the Cuban town, with locals visiting the unlikely pairing to see for themselves.

“This is something that I cannot believe. You need to see it to be believe it, it is something strange,” said local, Yailie Estevez.

According to the owner, “Linda” balances parental duties between the piglets and her own six pups.
