Protest briefly disrupts Plan Nord meetings in Montreal

MONTREAL – Several dozen demonstrators briefly occupied the Complexe Desjardins shopping centre at lunchtime Thursday before police got them to leave the building.

The protest was against Plan Nord meetings that were taking place in the Hyatt Hotel adjacent to the shopping complex.

The demonstrators marched from Phillips Square to Complexe Desjardins shortly before 1 p.m. and then entered the interior shopping plaza.

Montreal police spokesperson said the protesters were inside briefly and that there were no arrests, no injuries and no mischief.
