Two die in Perimeter Highway crash

WINNIPEG – Two people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash in North Winnipeg Wednesday afternoon.

RCMP said a semi-truck travelling east on the Perimeter Highway failed to stop at the red light and smashed into a minivan travelling north on Pipeline Rd.

Both vehicles then spun into oncoming westbound traffic, hitting two other cars.

The driver and passenger in the mini van were rushed to hospital but later died.

A child that was riding in another car struck in the collision was also treated for minor injuries.

Police said alcohol is not a factor but the investigation is ongoing.
