CancerCare Manitoba Foundation is warning of possible fraudulent door-to-door fundraising by a man claiming to be with the organization.
The well known charity has received numerous reports of suspicious fundraising in the St. James, Maples and River Heights areas of Winnipeg. In the reports a man claiming to be a colon cancer survivor asks for funds for a CancerCare Manitoba event that took place several months ago. He is a man in his late 30’s to early 40’s.
The local foundation does not canvass door-to-door for funds and asks anyone approached by this man to contact Winnipeg police.
