Participants at Ryerson University’s orientation have unofficially broken a Guinness World Record for most people blowing a chewing gum bubble simultaneously.

According to a university spokesperson, 1,203 people joined together Wednesday to blow bubbles at the same time for more than two minutes.

It will take a few weeks to receive the official confirmation, but if approved it would beat the record was set on Sept. 27, 2014 by 737 people in Madrid, Spain.

The record-breaking attempt comes days before the fall semester is scheduled to begin at the downtown Toronto university.

The spokesperson said this is the tenth time the university has attempted breaking Guinness World Records. In 2015, almost 1,300 participants simultaneously used yo-yos. However, the group was unable to beat the record.
