Global BC legend and reporter extraordinaire John Daly is signed off for the last time Tuesday.
A veteran of 36 years, Daly has covered some of the most high-profile stories in B.C. like the sudden plea bargain of one of the Surrey Six murderers, the raid on Premier Glen Clark’s home and the takedown of notorious gangster Jamie Bacon.
He’s been with Global BC since 1980, with the exception of a three-and-a-half-year hiatus.
Born in New York City, Vancouver has been his hometown since the mid-70s.
His favourite stories? “The ones that expose the scoundrels, and help the little guy!”
He was on the News Hour Tuesday talking about his illustrious career (see above). A 30-minute special on John Daly’s career will also run on BC1.
