Winnipeg man arrested for nearly month long crime spree

WINNIPEG — The man allegedly behind a crime spree that stretched from July 26 to August 23 has been arrested.

Scott James Henry, 29, has been charged with more than 25 offences police said in a news release Tuesday.

The crimes engaged in during the spree involved robberies, residential break-ins and a number of fraud related offences.

Henry was arrested on Monday when officers spotted him riding a bike near Chevrier Boulevard and Pembina Highway.

Full list of incidents in crime spree:

  • July 26: Break-in to residence on Island Shore Boulevard. A vehicle and personal identification was stolen.
  • August 15: A business on Wilton Street was robbed of cash.
  • August 16: A business on Pembina Highway was robbed of cash.
  • August 20: A vehicle was broken into while parked on Abraham Bay and personal identification/credit cards were stolen.
  • August 22 – 23: A vehicle was broken into while parked on Ormiston Road and personal identification was stolen.
  • August 23: A vehicle was broken into while parked on Sweetwater Bay and personal identification was stolen.
