Today

Today was the coldest morning we’ve had in over 100 days – you have to go back to May 15 to see the mercury fall down as far as it did earlier!

Saskatoon’s temperature dipped back to 1.9 degrees at 6 a.m. CT this morning, making it the second coldest place in the province.

North Battleford was the coldest, dropping to 0.7 earlier today.

The high pressure system will keep Saskatoon cool, but also mostly sunny through the rest of the day with temperatures this afternoon struggling to climb into the low 20s.

Tonight

Warmer air will press in tonight, however under mostly clear conditions it looks like the mercury will fall back into single digits with an overnight low expected around 7 degrees.

Tuesday

After hitting rock bottom on Monday, we’re heading into a warm-up for the rest of the week!

Tuesday will start off sunny before a few clouds move in midday and temperatures rise up into the mid-20s for an afternoon high.

Wednesday-Friday

Warm air continues to funnel in as a low pressure system slowly builds in west of the province through the remainder of the work week.

That’ll push daytime highs into the mid-to-high 20s Wednesday before approaching and potentially even hitting 30 degrees on Thursday and potentially even for Friday under a mix of sun and cloud.

Long Weekend Outlook

After a glorious end to the work week that low pressure system will push through this weekend, dropping temperatures and bringing with it a return to the cloud cover with a risk of rain, particularly to start the long weekend on Saturday.

There is still discrepancy amongst weather models, however most are indicating that the cool down will last right into Labour Day Monday with daytime highs back into the teens and more cloud cover than sunshine.
