MONTREAL – CGI Group Inc. signed a deal Wednesday for a five-year contract worth up to US$871 million from the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency.
The company’s U.S. subsidiary CGI Federal Inc. will provide engineering, scientific, testing and logistics services.

The Defense Information Systems Agency provides information technology services for the U.S. military.
“Our understanding of the DISA mission combined with the end-to-end technology and engineering expertise we deliver will help DISA support national security priorities and operations,” said Tim Hurlebaus, CGI’s vice-president for national security programs.

Meanwhile, CGI (TSX:GIB.A) also announced Wednesday the successful implementation of Los Angeles County’s new human resources management system, replacing a 22-year-old system.
The CGI system helps manage a US$24 billion budget, purchases, master agreements, grants and payroll for more than 100,000 employees.
