A three-year-old boy who was taken to hospital in critical condition after a collision in North Toronto Saturday morning was not properly restrained inside the vehicle, according to an update by police.
Emergency crews were called to Avenue Road and Roselawn Avenue around 8:10 a.m. after a car carrying the boy, along with his mother and father, hit a pole.

Paramedics rushed the boy to the Hospital for Sick Children with a police escort.
Meanwhile, the boy’s father was taken to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in serious condition.
The boy’s mother wasn’t injured.
Toronto police collision reconstruction unit officers were called to assist with the investigation.
It is not yet known what caused the collision.
