Alberta man charged with child luring and sexual assault of 13-year-old boy

Police in central Alberta have charged a 24-year-old man in connection to the alleged luring and sexual assault of a 13-year-old boy.

RCMP in the town of Innisfail launched an investigation on Aug. 18. Innisfail is located approximately 120 kilometres north of Calgary.

Nathan Pixley is charged with a handful of offences, including:

• Sexual assault
• Distributing sexually explicit material to a child
• Luring a person under 16 years by means of telecommunication
• Sexual interference
• Invitation to sexual touching
• Failing to comply with a probation order

“There was no connection between Pixley and the victim outside of social media,” RCMP said in a Friday news release.

Pixley has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on Sept. 14.
