Saskatoon-based Jubilee Ford has been ordered to pay a fine of $35,000 after a worker suffered a fractured arm.
The worker was attempting to repair an overhead door in January 2015 when an anchor bracket became loose, causing the door to come down on the worker’s forearm, causing several fractures.

The company pleaded guilty last week in provincial court to violating Saskatchewan’s occupational health and safety regulations.
Under the legislation, employers have the responsibility to ensure employees are given the necessary training to safely complete a job, with the onus on the employer to prove workers have been trained.

Jubilee Ford pleaded guilty to not having a defect found in equipment corrected by a competent person as soon as reasonably possible.
Two other charges against the company were stayed.
