As of noon on Monday, campfires are once again allowed in all areas of the Northwest fire centre.
The ban was lifted in large part to getting lots of rain over the weekend.
The welcomed rain aided in dropping the fire danger ratings from ‘moderate’ to ‘low’.
However there is still a category 2 open burning ban in place for the area.
In the Coastal Fire Region an open fire ban is still in place.
The ban covers the Coast Mountain Range, Tweedsmuir South Provincial Park, the Sunshine Coast, Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands and Haida Gwaii, and will remain in effect until Oct. 21 or until the public is notified.
