BC RCMP are investigating after a small boat almost crashed into a BC Ferry travelling from the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal to Swartz Bay.
Police say the incident took place July 26 at 8:15 p.m.
The “Spirit of British Columbia” was travelling in Swanson Channel near Saltspring Island.
The captain of the ferry reported the incident to the RCMP. He said the boat was an estimated 10 metres from the ferry’s bow and had at least two people on board.

He said the ferry made several warning blasts before the near miss but the boat did not stop.

The captain said he was forced to immediately slow the ferry down which was dangerous for his crew and the passengers on board.
The boat is believed to be a Grady White, between six and eight metres in length, white hull with a hard top and a single large motor.
