A 52-year-old Edmonton man was killed Saturday afternoon during a skydiving competition north of the city.
RCMP said they were called to the Edmonton Skydiving Centre at the Westlock Airport at around 2 p.m. Saturday.

Police said the man failed to land properly from a high performance skydiving technique. Emergency crews were on scene, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is under investigation by the RCMP.
Police said the man’s family has been notified and his name will not be released.
The Westlock Airport is located about 85 kilometres north of Edmonton.
No one at the Edmonton Skydiving Centre could be reached for comment Sunday.
