Saskatoon gas station employee robbed at knifepoint

Police say they have arrested the person responsible for an armed robbery at a Saskatoon gas station on Tuesday.

At around 5:20 a.m. CT, a man entered the business in the 1600-block of Idylwyld Drive North and produced a knife.

The suspect robbed the store employee of cigarettes and cash before fleeing on foot.

No injuries were reported.

A police dog was brought in and successfully tracked the man to the area of 38th Street East and Ontario Avenue where he was taken into custody without incident.

The 18-year-old man is facing charges that include robbery.
