Vancouver police are investigating after a man was attacked and then had his car stolen.
A man was sitting inside his parked car when another man approached him, opened the door, assaulted him repeatedly and dragged him out of the car.

The suspect then took off with the car.
The incident took place Friday night on Windermere Street.
Police say the suspect was not known to the victim.

The car was located, unoccupied, later that night. As police investigated, the suspect tried to return to the car.
The suspect fled on foot but the VPD’s K9 dog squat was deployed and caught the man.
The suspect was taken to hospital for treatment of lacerations.
