A 1,200-person workforce accommodation camp northeast of Peace River, Alta. is up for sale.

In its 55-year history, Ritchie Bros. says “nothing really comes close in sheer physical size to this unique asset we’re selling by private treaty.”

The camp is located about 50 kilometres outside Peace River, which is nearly 500 kilometres northwest of Edmonton.

The work camp was originally built by ATCO in 2013, the post explains.

It has three wings of living space equipped with 1,232 “fully-furnished, executive-style rooms.”

It is available for immediate purchase with one caveat – the buyer is responsible for “dismantling entirety of workforce accommodation.” Visit EquipmentOne for more details.

In February, a record number of American bidders registered for the Ritchie Bros.’ auction. The three-day event attracted 66 per cent more U.S. bidders than the same auction last February.

There were also 2,700 more items up for grabs in February 2016 compared to February 2015.

“The size of this auction is partly a reflection of the current economy here in Alberta,” Brian Glenn, senior vice president of Ritchie Bros., said in a media release.
