Westlock RCMP confirm Thursday the body of Robert Wilkins had been located and the investigation into his disappearance has closed.
The 66-year-old was last seen by his wife on July 25 in Westlock when he said he was headed out on a drive.
“His family is extremely concerned because it’s very unusual for him not to be in touch,” sister-in-law Brenda Wilkins said on July 30.

Wilkins had diabetes and required medication, which was left at home.
A search of the area surrounding Westlock turned up nothing. The family said even The Westlock Flying Club was helping with the search.
On August 4, his body was found. In a release, the RCMP said it is no longer seeking any further public information into this case.
