The new Canadian discount airline, NewLeaf Travel, made its first landing at the Regina airport on Thursday afternoon.
The airline arrived from Kelowna today. NewLeaf will be doing this route twice a week with the flight leaving Regina at 12:25 p.m. on Thursdays and on Sundays at 6:10 p.m.
The only route NewLeaf currently has in Regina is the flight to Kelowna.
“Regina International airport welcomes NewLeaf to YQR. Travellers in southern Saskatchewan and Okanagan can now quickly and conveniently connect to business, leisure or a little bit of both….all on a budget,” Richmond Graham, President and CEO, Regina Airport Authority, said in a statement.
“As one of our top Canadian unserved destinations, NewLeaf’s direct non-stop twice-weekly flights to and from Kelowna provides travellers a convenient and affordable travel option and allows our city and province to open our doors and showcase our prairie hospitality to our friends out west.”
NewLeaf will be flying to 12 different cities across Canada.
