Clear skies across Metro Vancouver this week will allow for a rare opportunity to view the International Space Station move across the night sky.

“The weather is going to be perfect for it over the next few days,” says Global News senior meteorologist, Kristi Gordon.

NASA’s website details the station’s schedule for the next few days. The station will be visible multiple times per day.

According to the website, the station will look like a very bright star moving across the sky or like an airplane. It won’t have flashing lights and won’t change direction.

It also says it will be moving “considerably” faster than a typical airplane. Airplanes usually fly at approximately 600 miles per hour – while the station flies at 17,500 miles per hour.

The next sightings will be Tuesday at 9:38 p.m., and 11:12 p.m.

And if you are an early riser you can also spot it on Wednesday at 2:25 a.m. or 4:02 a.m.
