It was a close call for a heritage home in Kelowna.
At 3 a.m., the hedge surrounding the property went up in flames, coming within a few metres of the house on Beach Avenue.

Two residents escaped and called 9-1-1.
Firefighters made quick work of the blaze and kept it from spreading to the home.
The cause is believed to be fireworks.
RCMP are investigating.
