Traffic restrictions at highway 11 and 16 overpass

Saskatoon police were called to the southern side of the city on May 3, 2016 after a semi struck an overpass. Restrictions are coming for drivers using the overpass at highways 11 and 16 as crews repair damage caused by over height loads. Dayne Winter / Global News

Drivers using highways 11 and 16 at the overpass in southeast Saskatoon will have to deal with road restrictions for the next three weeks.

During the repair work that starts Wednesday evening, the northbound centre lane on Highway 11 will be closed.

Additional northbound lane closures will be required as the project progresses and to also ensure worker safety.

There will also be restrictions on Highway 16.

A crossover will be built to accommodate two-way traffic in the eastbound and westbound lanes.

Concrete will be poured and cured on one side at a time, and closures will remain in place for several days to allow the concrete to cure.
