Traffic restrictions at highway 11 and 16 overpass

Drivers using highways 11 and 16 at the overpass in southeast Saskatoon will have to deal with road restrictions for the next three weeks.

Crews will be repairing the concrete that was damaged due to over height loads hitting the overpass.

During the repair work that starts Wednesday evening, the northbound centre lane on Highway 11 will be closed.

Additional northbound lane closures will be required as the project progresses and to also ensure worker safety.

There will also be restrictions on Highway 16.

A crossover will be built to accommodate two-way traffic in the eastbound and westbound lanes.

Concrete will be poured and cured on one side at a time, and closures will remain in place for several days to allow the concrete to cure.

Officials say the cost of the repairs is being covered by insurance.
