A 31-year-old man has been arrested after making sexual advances on a 19-year-old woman he met to play Pokemon.

The B.C. woman met the man in Annievielle Park in North Delta – which is a popular spot to play the game.

She met him through a secret sharing app called ‘Whisper.’

“Her belief was that she was to meet this person to go and hunt Pokemon with him,” said Sgt. Sarah Swallow with Delta Police.

Police caution to always exercise caution when meeting with strangers – whether it is to play Pokemon or to buy something from Craigslist.

Swallow says meetings should always take place in a public place and preferably in a place with security cameras.

Police say it is important to always let someone know where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you will be back.

Swallow says bringing a friend along can always help as extra caution.
